Carsensor API
The Carsensor parser and scraper run on our side, and you get ready-to-use Japanese dealer listings via the API. Each record contains the vehicle price and the dealer's total price, mileage, specifications, inspection data and photos, and the change feed tells you about new listings, price changes and cars taken off sale.
The change feed reports every new Carsensor listing, price change and removal from sale.
One file a day with the entire current Carsensor inventory.

Workflow

/change_id?date=...get starting ID for changes feed/changes?change_id=...get all changes in the database starting from ID/offerget details of a specific listing by inner_idWhere to start:
1. Before the first load, call /change_id with today's date and store the returned ID; if it returns 0, try again a little later. Then fetch /offers page by page, all the way to the last page.
2. Next, read /changes starting from that ID, passing next_change_id from each response: this brings you newly listed cars, new prices and removed listings. If next_change_id comes back null, there are no new events yet: repeat the request later with the same ID.
3. To search by your own criteria, call /offers with the filters you need.

- id - record number in our database; use inner_id to match it with the listing on the marketplace
- inner_id - listing identifier on Carsensor, also part of the listing URL: AU7363661281
- url - link to the listing on carsensor.net
- title - listing title as written by the dealer
- section - section: used for used cars, new for new ones
- mark, model - make and model, e.g. Honda and Freed
- generation - production period of this model version in the format 2017.04 - 2018.03; no end date if the model is still in production
- configuration - model code from the Japanese registration documents, e.g. 5BA-GT1
- complectation - trim as stated by the dealer
- year - year the car was first registered; for parallel imports, the marketplace gives the year of manufacture
- color - body color, values from /filters
- body_type - body type, values from /filters
- doors_count - number of doors
- engine_type - fuel type, values from /filters
- displacement - engine displacement in cc
- horse_power - factory-rated power in hp; for hybrids only the combustion engine is counted, for EVs it is the electric motor; empty when there is no data
- transmission_type - transmission type: automatic, manual, CVT or other
- drive_type - 4WD or 2WD; for 2WD, drive_catalog shows which wheels are driven
- rudder - steering side
- price - price of the car in yen, Japanese consumption tax included, registration costs extra; -1 when the price is on request
- km_age - mileage in kilometers as rounded by the marketplace, usually to 1,000 km; empty when the mileage is unknown or rolled back
- no_accidents - true means the structural body parts were not repaired or replaced; false means such work was done
- condition - the dealer's notes as a comma-separated list, e.g. one owner, non-smoking car, maintenance records
- owners_count - 1 when the dealer states a single owner, otherwise empty
- equipment - equipment list as a JSON array inside a string
- seller - dealer name
- seller_url - link to the dealer's profile on carsensor.net
- salon_id - dealer ID on Carsensor
- region - prefecture where the car is located
- city - city or district
- address - dealer address
- images - photo links as a JSON array inside a string; many cars have several dozen photos
- offer_created - date the listing appeared, based on the NEW mark; empty if the date is unknown
- extra_prep - nested object with additional data, described below; missing values come as null
Inside extra_prep
- total_price - total payable in yen: the car plus the mandatory registration costs when you buy from this dealer and register the car in the dealer's area
- plan_prices - total payable for the dealer's packages A and B, e.g. with an extended warranty; not every car has them
- is_price_ask - true when the dealer did not state a price and price is -1
- monthly_loan - monthly payment on the dealer's car loan, in yen
- monthly_loan_type - loan type: regular for a standard loan, residual for a loan with a balloon payment at the end
- mileage_raw - mileage exactly as written in the listing, including any notes
- is_mileage_unknown - true when the actual mileage is unknown
- is_mileage_tampered - true when odometer rollback has been confirmed
- is_meter_replaced - true when the odometer has been replaced
- year_raw - year from the listing with the Japanese era notation: 2025(R07)
- shaken - expiry of the Japanese roadworthiness inspection (year and month), or a note on whether the dealer will arrange it as part of the sale
- warranty - whether there is a warranty
- maintenance - statutory pre-sale servicing: included in the price, done for an extra fee or not done
- recycle_fee - status of the Japanese recycling fee: whether it has been paid and whether it is included in the price
- transmission_raw - original transmission designation: shifter location, number of gears and whether there is a manual mode
- color_name - color in the dealer's own words
- color_factory - factory color name
- chassis_no_tail - last three digits of the chassis number; Carsensor does not publish the full number
- seats - number of seats
- fuel - fuel recommended by the manufacturer: regular gasoline, premium gasoline or diesel
- drive_catalog - drivetrain from the factory specifications, e.g. FF (front wheels), FR (rear wheels) or 4WD (all four)
- power_kw - power from horse_power converted to kW
- power_kw_estimated - true when the kW figure was converted from hp
- engine_kind - engine layout: number and arrangement of cylinders, valvetrain type; for EVs, the electric motor
- engine_code - engine code: L15D
- displacement_exact - factory engine displacement, exact to the cubic centimeter: 1496
- grade_name - full trim name from the factory data
- catalog_path - trim identifier on carsensor.net: cars of the same trim share it
- maker_code - Carsensor's internal make code
- model_code_site - Carsensor's internal model code
- is_new - true when marked NEW: the listing appeared or was relisted within the past week
- labels - badges on the listing, e.g. dealer warranty, 360° view, online consultation, evaluation report
- is_maker_certified - true for manufacturer-certified cars
- evaluation - inspection result: who inspected the car, the overall grade and the date; grade R goes to cars whose structural body parts were repaired
- ais - detailed Carsensor inspection sheet: overall grade, letter grades for the interior and exterior, model code, odometer reading on the inspection day, whether the car had a full repaint or an odometer replacement, a list of defects and a link to an image with the damage marked

'https://{access_name}.auto-api.com/yyyy-mm-dd/all_active.csv'Carsensor (carsensor.net) is owned by the Japanese company Recruit and is one of the largest used car sites in the country. Only dealers post listings, from small car lots to official brand dealerships, and you can find almost anything there, including kei cars, trucks and campers.
Carsensor prices are in yen and come as two figures: the vehicle price and the dealer's total price including registration costs. A listing shows whether structural body parts have been repaired or replaced, whether there is a warranty and the month the roadworthiness inspection (shaken) expires. Some cars are checked by a Carsensor inspector, and the listing then includes an inspection sheet with scores and defects.
For an importer, Carsensor is a quick way to find the right trim at dealers all over Japan without missing fresh listings. The same data shows what a model costs on the Japanese market and how its price changes, and the model code and engine specs make it easy to estimate import duties and fees in advance.
New listings, price changes and removals from sale arrive through /changes. You don't need a parser of your own for this.
